A picture tells 100000000+++ words: PARTY!

So the last post left you hanging, right?

We'd been on a journey. It began by ambling through the early months of the year...February, then a bit more happening in March, then BAM, FULL SPEED AHEAD APRIL!

And the month isn't over yet!

For what happened on the last weekend of April really does deserve a post of its own.

Here it is.

Stephen entered the 30 club!!!

So we threw a party!

All his friends were there!

Wooo! Party animals!

Some friends even came on a road trip from Adelaide so they could celebrate with us.

Stephen, Emily, Matt, Jen & Sarah

We even had a celebrity guest:

It was a hovering Mickey!

Stephen was there - that was a relief!

The birthday boy enjoying a birthday beer with his birthday dinner in the birthday pub.

Stephen had only one thing in mind when asked about birthday present ideas.

"A puppet," he said.

"He must be a detective/spy kinda guy. A one-of-a-kind puppet that no one will ever own!"

The dream was born. After emailing a reputable puppet-maker, they came to an agreement. The puppet would cost $1000. Now, on a Centrelink+ministry income, it seemed the puppet would remain just a dream, never to materialize in the real world.

So, we came up with an idea.

For those people who wanted to bless Stephen with a birthday gift, we offered them a unique opportunity: sponsor a puppet. Their gift would allow the puppet to become a reality!

At the party, we had a HUGE poster of the puppet design. People could place a sticker on the part of the puppet they wanted to sponsor - ear, nose, hand, belt, jacket, hat, etc. It was all up for grabs!

Stephen was overwhelmed to receive enough money to buy his puppet. It would be born!

Sure enough, the exciting day arrived when Eugene (the puppet) was ready to be picked up from the post office, all tucked up in his luxury cardboard box.

Oh happy day!

Here he is, chilling out on the couch.

Yes, I'll have a tea, thank you.

Sarah also got Stephen a new jumper from a wonderful shop called SnorgTees. It was very witty, and still leaves people smiling today. Well...at least I (Sarah) laugh when I see it.

See the caption for a description of the jumper.

it says:
Hedgehogs.
Why don't they just share the hedge?
And the hedgehog's response in the speech bubble:
No.

Yes. This is being worn by a 30 year old man.

Happy birthday, Stephen!
